Vocational Training Program 2024-25

Skills training for entrepreneurship and paid employment

Reflecting on our endeavors in 2023, Al-Madad Welfare has consistently strived to address the multifaceted challenges confronting the communities we serve, with Tharparkar standing out as a focal point of our initiatives. Over the past year, our dedicated efforts have centered on enhancing the quality of life for the Thari community by facilitating access to essential services such as healthcare and education, alongside fostering income-generating opportunities.

As we look forward to the upcoming year, our commitment remains unwavering, with a proposed budget of PKR 2.52 million allocated for the period spanning July 2024 to June 2025. Our goal is to empower the youth of Tharparkar with employable skills, thereby unlocking avenues for sustainable livelihoods. To this end, we are poised to launch a comprehensive vocational skills training project, targeting the training of 1000 young Thari individuals across three pivotal vocational trades.

Our vision for the year ahead encompasses the establishment of dedicated training centers in Thar, where a competency-based training (CBT) approach will be employed to impart skills in areas such as,

  • Information Technology
  • Textile
  • Dairy
  • Hospitality
  • Construction
  • Technology
  • Beautician services
  • Mechanical Industries.

Through these focused interventions, we aspire to equip the youth with the requisite skills to thrive in both entrepreneurial ventures and gain employment opportunities, thereby catalyzing positive change and fostering resilience within the Thari community.
