Water is such an important part of our lives, and it’s hard to imagine going without it. Yet, in many parts of the world, people do not have access to clean water. In fact, according to the World Health Organization, over 780 million people do not have access to safe water. This means that they have to drink water from sources that could make them sick. In Pakistan, the usage of unsafe water is quite high. Especially in rural areas, the availability of clean and drinkable water is scarce. Unsafe water can cause various diseases, which is one of the major causes of death.
Al-Madad Welfare’s main goal and objective is to provide safe and clean water in such areas where water supply is acutely short. With our initiative, we have already been able to help people in such areas by installing hand pumps. Insha Allah this year we will launch more hand pumps in numerous regions of Sindh i.e. Nagarparkar, Islamkot & Tharparkar. The cost for a single hand pump with material and labor is 58,000/- which can benefit up to 30 to 40 homes along with more than 2000 cattle farm animals.
